Parent-driven organization that supports families of children with hearing loss; a safe place for parents to explore the available options for communication without feeling judged or pressured.
National Association of the Deaf – Junior NAD (opens new tab)
Students establish Junior NAD groups in their schools to focus on advocacy, attitude, awareness, commitment, cooperation, friendship, information exchange, involvement and leadership skills.
National Cued Speech Association (opens new tab)
An organization supporting the use of Cued Speech, a visual mode of communication. It is a phonemic-based system which uses a small number of handshapes (cues) in different locations near the mouth as a supplement to speechreading.
