2017 calendar on tabletWe have a host of upcoming workshops and events!

On Saturday, February 4, Trix Bruce is the featured speaker of a video conference/workshop entitled “Incorporating Non-Manual Markers/Signals: Broaden Your Understanding and Ability to Incorporate Non-Manual Markers.” The workshop will take place at SERESC in Bedford, and registration is required. On Saturday, February 11, a roundtable discussion for parents of Deaf & Hard of Hearing children will be held at Northeast Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services. The roundtable starts at 10am, is free, and childcare will be available. Learn more or register (opens new tab).

On Thursday, February 16, Julie Couch from the New Hampshire Department of Education will provide a training to Teachers of the Deaf (TODs) on how to proctor and provide support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students during SBAC testing. For more information (opens new tab).

On Friday, March 24 the New Hampshire Provisional Chapter of Hands and Voices will host a conference for parents and service providers of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children called “Navigate through the Education System: Considerations for Parents and Professionals of Children who are Deaf & Hard of Hearing.” Tawny Holmes, Esq, and Dr. Cheryl DeConde Johnson as well as parents of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children will share their professional and personal experiences. For more information or to register (opens new tab).

On Saturday, April 1 the final video conference in the 2016-2017 Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment Distance Courses will occur. “Professional Development Planning: Deliberate Practice is Necessary to Improve EIPA Scores” is open to educational interpreters, TODs, generalist interpreters, and interpreting students. The workshop will take place at SERESC in Bedford, and registration is required.
