Project Description

A Handful of Stories is based on the Deaf Storytellers Video Tape Series, coordinated by Dr. Roslyn Rosen and Bernard Bragg. They were the guiding forces behind the transliteration of the signed stories into written stories.  Bernard Bragg was responsible for recruiting the sixteen deaf individuals who participated in the Series. He also served as the video tape coordinator.

One basic objective of the Series was to promote an appreciation of deaf heritage. Thus, signed and printed stories are based on the personal experiences of the storytellers or on information told to them by other deaf people.
