This video conference presentation focuses on best practices and techniques for fostering healthy interpreter student relationships. In the K-12 setting it is not uncommon for one interpreter to be placed with the same student for several years or longer, especially for those interpreters working in rural settings. The presenter reviews the EIPA Code of Professional Conduct. A framework for examining interpreters’ daily practices for fostering student independence is introduced.
