Project Description

The purpose of this book is to encourage positive sexuality education for deaf persons within their social, educational, medical, and family support systems. It is designed to be used by deaf persons themselves, by interpreters who wish to become more knowledgeable about and comfortable with sexual vocabulary, by teachers, counselors, and medical practitioners who strive for clear communication with students, clients, or patients, and by parents who want to participate actively in their child’s sexual learning and value formation. The second edition includes 93 new terms, 65 of which have photos of new signs, for a total of 251 vocabulary entries. Most of the original definitions have been updated or reworded.
