We are reaching out to share an exciting, FREE program that is available for any students/your child in your district that are Deaf/Hard of Hearing or have hearing loss that are between the ages of 14 to 21 years old.
This program is called “TEAM-WIOA”
(Transition Exploration Advocacy Mapping– Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act)
Often students with hearing loss are under prepared for life after they graduate from high school; not having enough communication access to develop plans regarding if they want to attend postsecondary institutes or join the work force. This is a nationwide issue and the State of New Hampshire is committed to step up for students with hearing loss to ensure that they are familiar with their options, be capable of advocating for themselves and are prepared for life after high school.
The Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) trainings will include
- Job Exploration Counseling
- Work Based Learning
- Comprehensive Transition or Post-Secondary Education
- Work Readiness
- Deaf Self-Advocacy
Students can receive services in one or all of the Pre-ETS. Students who participate in these trainings will gain valuable experience and knowledge that will better prepare them for life after high school.
This project is sponsored by New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation through Northeast Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, Inc. with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding—we will travel to your school district to work directly with the students.
